- Become a Wildly Generous Benefactor. An invitation from a Living Compassion participant:
Become the wildly generous benefactor you have always wished for! According to dictionary.com, the definition of a philanthropist is someone who makes charitable donations intended to increase human well-being. I have often had the experience of
thinking that I'd love to be a philanthropist but feeling that I don't have enough to offer to make a real difference. But, just imagine if dozens, hundreds, even thousands of us who are philanthropist-wannabees began to pool our resources...the possibilities are endless!
Pull out your best top-hat, feather boa, quill pen, or whatever else says "wildly generous benefactor" to you, and have an outrageously good time writing a check for one percent, three percent, even five or ten percent of your annual income. Remember the guideline that giving less that you have received is an unkindness, and giving more than you can afford is an unkindness as well. Check in, pay attention, then pick up your pen and join this philanthropy party, knowing that your financial assistance along with your lovingkindness makes all the difference in the world!
