Sadie and Pace find that their goodness and sweetness is adequately rewarded by the attention they get from monks and retreatants. Our off-the-grid solar system makes doing the weekly laundry in our conventional washing machine a challenge. Last year’s wish for an energy efficient washing machine that is good for us and good for the environment got us halfway there! Cost is about $1000 and we have $500. Help us get the rest of the way!

Jen is grateful that 350 children in Kantolomba are now receiving a meal every day. With 2650 children in the community still not eating regularly, she hopes to expand the program to include them all. Her wish this year is to immediately add 25 more children to the program. The cost to feed and educate one child for one year is about $225.

The monks are concerned about transportation to and from the airport. With more people arriving for retreats, it can take three of our vehicles and three monks as drivers to transport everyone from the Bay Area to the Monastery. A twelve-passenger van would make all our transportation dreams come true. We figure it’s about a $15,000 dream machine. Maybe you know sources of good used vehicles or something just waiting to be donated?
