Day 1: Rieti to Contigliano – 12 miles
This morning we walked 6 miles to Fonte Colombo. We meandered through the chapels, the sanctuary and the caves commemorating Francis.

Leaving Fonte Colombo, we walked another 6 miles to our hotel in Contigliano. From the hotel we looked up and could see the very ancient part of the town way up on the hill behind us.
