During a retreat in Italy in 2003, Zen Teacher Cheri Huber had the vision for an International Peace Center, located in Assisi, Italy.  Assisi has been a profoundly spiritual and peaceful place for Cheri, and the town's long association with St. Francis and St. Clare has made it a place of pilgrimage for peace seekers.

The current vision is to purchase a building in Assisi. The center will offer a deep experience of peace and displays on peace efforts all over the world, present and past, from all faiths and traditions and from no particular faith/tradition as well. Visitors will be able to browse through the peace resources and participate in a variety of peace practices. They will leave knowing that place of peace within, carrying with them information that might help them take their next step toward peace.

The Assisi Project currently awaits a home in Assisi. We have had our eye on one available building. At the moment, the one million dollar asking price is well beyond our means. We are asking people the world over to participate in our Dollar for Peace campaign. In addition, to get the building up and running, we are seeking loans of $250,000.
