Perhaps you heard the great news? As a Sangha we raised a grand total of $114,000 this Bridge Walk season! Amazing! Our goal was $108,000. Life is good!
This achievement has enabled us to add a much-needed program: weekend lunch for all 1,000 children and 37 cooperative members.
The economy in Zambia has worsened in the last several months, and many families are even less able to provide one meal a day. This means many of the Living Compassion children were going hungry on Saturday and Sunday.
When we shared the news with Theresa and team about the grand success of the Bridge Walk and that we could now add the weekend meals, they were overjoyed:
“This coming week I will be doing interviews for the four ladies who will be joining us next month on the team to make the new program possible. This is very exciting. Providing lunch on Saturdays and Sundays has cheered the team here. I can’t wait to start the program! The little faces will be healthier and I will have no worries to say what did they eat over the weekend. Thank you, you have made our day!”
This is just the beginning of big plans for 2016. We are traveling to Ndola the end of January, and as always we will bring you with us through blogs and Good News updates. Stay tuned for more inspiring developments.
For now, please do your part by stopping to acknowledge your participation in this joy-filled adventure.
