You have to appreciate the irony. A voice in my head that doesn't really exist, wants to tell me that the Mentor (with a capital M) doesn't really exist.
I used to believe I had trouble accessing the Mentor. But the only "trouble" was with a voice in my head telling me who the Mentor is, what the Mentor should be like, and how I should feel before, during, and after accessing Mentorship. Eventually, I saw that voice for what it was: unhelpful and untrue.
I decided to do an experiment. One day, I just turned on the recorder, started speaking, and tried trusting that the Mentor would show up. And there was the Mentor! All the kindness and all the guidance I could ever want. All the loving intelligence I could ever need. All the possible wisdom of capital L Life—just one click of a record button away.
And, was it real?
Um, yup, it was.
Yay.
True. It can be hard at first to catch the voices when they might masquerade as the Mentor, but over time, the true real voice of the Mentor is unmistakable.
