I recently joined a choir that has no auditions and no performances. The process of singing together is the outcome. The teacher explained that what we create together, not one of us could do alone. She called it the “instant gratification” of expressing through our bodies and hearing our voices as one. This has been my experience.
It struck me that this is just what we do as Sangha. The collective energy of Sangha is far more than the sum of its parts. A container of safety holds us. We can be vulnerable. We come together as a community, speaking and listening with our hearts and minds open. Insights drop in. Sharing becomes the process. There is connection and collaboration with Life.
The Africa project is like this, too. The joy is in the walking, the singing, the dancing, the drumming, the feeding, the schooling, everything we do as a global community. The giver, the receiver and the gift are all one. Instant connection. No separation. Right here. Right now. There is no self and other.
I have immense gratitude for being guided and experiencing the process of Unconditional Love which is the practice of Loving Kindness.
