One of my favorite practices lately is that of saying yes to Life. What I experience over and over again in saying yes to what Life offers is delight at the surprises and the abundance of what’s available. It’s cultivating an attitude of mind that accepts everything as it is, regardless of how I’m feeling. That is one of the gifts of the practice. Repeatedly, I see that putting feelings and conversations aside and taking the next step required (yes in action) is where freedom lies. As I practice this I experience more peace and relaxation, and trust in the process grows. It seems to be a behavior change resulting in a change in consciousness. I am more open to Life’s overt and subtle messages, and there’s a level of excitement and anticipation of “what’s next?”
Huge gratitude has also grown with this practice of saying yes to Life, gratitude for the limitless gifts available. As I become more attune to the offerings, no matter how large or small, a practice of saying thank you has naturally evolved. So whether it’s a quiet internal reminder, an idea that arises, or an intuitive knowing, my response is thank you. And it seems that this expression of gratitude encourages and supports the availability of the gifts. When I am living from yes and thank you, it all seems available because I am present.
So yes and thank you have become focuses for staying present. When I find myself in huge resistance (conditioning) it’s the acknowledging and accepting or saying yes to ALL the feelings, thoughts and sensations that allows for moving through it. And then thank you naturally follows. For even the resistance becomes a gift, an opportunity to practice letting go, experience that there is nothing wrong, and see that Life is much more powerful than conditioning.
