Visiting Monk Program
Duration/ 6 weeks

“We use everything in our experience to see how we cause ourselves to suffer, so we can drop that and end suffering.”

Location/
Zen Monastery Peace Center

Pre-requisites/
This is our most advanced training and is open to those who have attended a Your Practice retreat and are deeply steeped in this Practice.

DESCRIPTION

An extended stay at the Monastery is a perfect way to train to see ego in action. Egocentric karmic conditioning/self-hate hides out in the familiar routines of our day-to-day existence. Stepping into the silence of the privileged environment and a monastic community gives us an experience of waking up that is truly unique. It is one of the best ways to deepen one's practice.

It is offered throughout the year, for as short as a month or as long as a year. It is for those who are ready to take responsibility for their practice and are committed to focus exclusively on the process of waking up and ending suffering for an extended period of time.

How it Works

You will join the monastic schedule of sitting, walking and working mediation, where each individual's practice contributes to the entire community, both in maintaining the place of practice and in offering the privileged environment as the container for practice. There will be groups, structured ways to support your practice focus, and guidance.
