2026 Practice Offerings

Yearlong 2026: In-sighting
Dates/ Begins March 14

description

Several Zen schools have employed the koan as a device to assist a practitioner to awaken to a direct experience of Intelligence. This year, we follow in the footsteps of monks of old, devoting ourselves to koan practice through which we arrive at the “intuitive recognition of the instant, thus reality,” which, according to D.T. Suzuki, is the highest act of wisdom.

Our text? Zen Flesh, Zen Bones

The stories in the text, many of which will be familiar, will challenge us to go beyond what “I” already knows and to look to the moment for what is arising in Awareness as insight. In the practice of attending to Awareness, we train to be receptive to the clarity of Awareness and the joy of Intelligence knowing itself.
