Dear Sangha,
Over the years, many have been interested in learning more about how to bring the daily living practices of the monastery into the home. In response, we are beginning a new project: Zen at Home—A Guide to Compassionate Living.
This guide will share both resources and practices to assist in living more mindfully and sustainably. We’ll explore topics from how to care for our homes and cook, to how to travel, tend to our gardens, care for our pets, and even rest. Each choice—such as reusing what can be reused, or choosing products that honor the Earth—blooms into an expression of love and compassion.
Our hope is that this will be a collective effort, drawing from both what we do here at the monastery and the wisdom and the discoveries of Sangha, as each of you brings valuable insights from your own experience of compassionate living.
We warmly welcome your involvement. To begin, we are looking for 3-5 volunteers to help steward the project. If you are interested, please email zenathome@livingcompassion.org. Later we will reach out to the Sangha for contributions. Together, we will create a resource that supports us all in living more gently, more sustainably, and more lovingly with the world around us.
